During this year’s Leadership Broward Foundation gala, Pier Sixty-Six Hotel & Marina General Manager Amaury Piedra was among those recognized for his leadership and impact on the Broward County community.

“This is a tremendous honor,” said Amaury. “I feel so proud to accept this award from my peers and on behalf of the outstanding team at Pier Sixty-Six.”

Active in the community, Amaury was a founder and past member of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau’s Marketing Committee, the founding chair of the Fort Lauderdale Beach Business Improvement District, and played a key role in launching the inaugural Tortuga Music Festival. He is also a former board member of the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau.

In his role as General Manager at Pier Sixty-Six, Amaury leads a team of more than 300 employees and is responsible for strategic operations of the hotel, five dining outlets, banquet and meeting facilities, and the property’s marina. He’s looking forward to what’s next for Pier Sixty-Six.

“I’ve been in South Florida’s hospitality industry for a long time and I’ve never been more excited about a redevelopment project,” he said. “Pier Sixty-Six is an iconic destination in Broward County and I can’t wait to see the property reimagined as Fort Lauderdale’s Social Harbor.”
